Financial Options

At Alliance Family Dentistry, we are dedicated to helping you receive excellent dentistry at a great price. We currently accept most dental insurances and have full list of information available in our office.

Post-Op Instructions After Teeth Extractions

The First 24 Hours

• Bite down on gauze with firm and constant pressure for 20-40 minutes. Some oozing is normal. Change with clean gauze and repeat if bleeding persists. The extraction site can ooze for as long as 24 to 48 hours.
• Don’t spit or suck on candies or through a straw.
• Don’t rinse your mouth and brush.
• Don’t smoke or use tobacco. Avoid smoking for at least 72 hours.
• Try not to sneeze or cough so, have sinus or allergy medication handy if necessary.
• Avoid from engaging in strenuous activities such as lifting or pushing heavy things.
• Elevate your head when laying down.
• Avoid alcoholic, hot, carbonated drinks and spicy foods.

After the First 24 Hours

• Start to eat normally as soon as it’s comfortable starting with soft foods such as soup, fish, mashed potato, ice cream, etc.
• Resume brushing and flossing gently around the extraction sites.
• Rinse with warm salt water to reduce swelling. Use about one teaspoon of salt per glass of warm water. Rinse 2-3 times a day for about a week following the extraction
• If antibiotics were prescribed, continue to take them until finished.

When to Call Us

It is normal to experience some discomfort for several days after a tooth extraction, but call us right away if you have:

• Persistent or increased bleeding
• Pain or swelling that increases or continues beyond 2 or 3 days
• Allergic reactions to the medications
